I work on business web applications for clients, mostly on the backend in .NET and C#. I build and maintain REST APIs in ASP.NET Core and talk to databases through Entity Framework, so a lot of my work is about designing endpoints, writing the logic behind them and making sure the queries stay fast as the data grows. I also pick up the frontend in React when a feature needs it. On the database side I work with SQL Server and PostgreSQL, from writing queries to preparing migrations when the model changes. Since the projects are long running and worked on by a whole team, I spend a fair amount of time on code review, keeping things consistent and picking up parts of the system written by other people.

I worked as a fullstack developer, so I moved between the frontend and the backend depending on what had to be done that week. On the frontend it was mostly React and Next.js with Tailwind, and on the backend I wrote REST APIs in NestJS and Next.js, with Prisma on top of PostgreSQL. Testing was a normal part of the job here, not something added at the end. I wrote tests before the code and covered the important paths with Playwright, which saved a lot of clicking through the app by hand. Releases went through CI/CD pipelines and Docker, so putting out a new version was boring in a good way. I also built a PWA there, which had to keep working without internet and feel like a normal app on a phone. The code lived on GitHub and GitLab, so reviews and merge requests were part of every day.

This was my first job in the industry. I worked on the frontend of Mapiblocks, building the screens people actually use and making sure they were clear and quick to get around. Most of it was Angular and React with TypeScript, and for the mobile version we used Ionic, so the same code ran in the browser and on phones. The layouts had to look right on every screen size, and all the data came from REST APIs, so a good part of the work was handling loading and errors in a way that does not leave the user guessing. The team was international and spread across a few countries, so everything happened in English. That taught me to write clearly and to ask questions instead of assuming I understood the task.

Truth or Dare
July 2023 - August 2023
The first version of this game was written back in middle school, when I was just playing around with programming. It was in PHP and old JavaScript and it was the first bigger thing I ever finished, so after a few years I decided to build it again in newer technology, this time written properly and with a few extra features. The game is played on one phone that goes around the table. You add all the players at the start and the app keeps track of whose turn it is, so nobody has to remember it. Cards are grouped into decks, so you can prepare different sets of questions and dares and pick the one that fits the company you are playing with. Everyone gets their own cards, so the same question does not come back twice, and the app counts how often someone picks truth so you cannot avoid dares the whole evening. There is also a panel for managing cards, decks and players. At some point I want to extend it with real multiplayer, so everyone can play from their own phone.
E-Commerce CMS

This is the admin side of an online shop. I built it because I wanted to see how a store works behind the scenes and not only the part that customers see. After logging in you can add products with photos and descriptions, put them into categories, check what is still in stock, and go through orders and customer data in one place. It runs on Next.js and renders pages on the server, so the panel stays fast even with a lot of products.

The shop that customers actually use. It takes all products and stock from the CMS, so anything I change in the panel shows up here right away. People can look through categories, put items in the cart and pay online. When the payment goes through, the order is confirmed and passed to delivery. I split it into two apps on purpose, because I wanted to learn how to make them talk to each other instead of putting everything in one project.

February 2024 - February 2024
An app for writing down how much time you spend on work. The idea came from the fact that filling a timesheet in a spreadsheet at the end of the month never really worked for me. You can start a timer while you work, or add the hours later if you forgot. Every entry belongs to an activity, so after a few days you can see where your time really went. When the week is over you close it and the hours are locked for reporting. It is a PWA, so you can install it on your phone, use it without internet, and it sends a notification when you forget to log something.
Marketing Agency

A website for a marketing agency with their services, past work and opinions from clients. I built it to practise layout and animations, so most of the time went into how the page looks and how it behaves while scrolling on phones and bigger screens. It is only a frontend demo. There is no backend and no real content management behind it, the texts and images are added in the code.
